There's a "volcanic bubble" in the heart of East Portland called Mt. Tabor. I grew up around the tree covered hill in the 70's & 80's, and have not moved far since. I went to Franklin High School, took a couple years of college courses at PSU and MHCC, and one day in 1990 got my hands on a computerized engraving system.
Today I work with state-of-the-art laser cutting and engraving machines, controlled by sophisticated software.
My old boss and her best friend gave me the opportunity to learn and grow with the small business they created back when I was in my early 20's. There was no internet, and the fax machine and laser printer were emerging technologies. No cell phones, no drones overhead, Clinton, Bush...
But most importantly.....
My wife encouraged me to start this little business. To do so, I had to leave a steady job of almost 20 years! Without her love and support (and her great job as an LMSW) there would be no Bullfrog Graphics.
My very first customer, Polliwog Learning Products, is my sister's cool little business. Without Polliwog, Bullfrog would have struggled mightily in the first years, and might not have taken off! Thank you to my loving wife and sweet sister :)
------- dramatic life change ---------
March 25, 2016 my beautiful wife passed away from complications related to past surgeries. Since then I have written about her, about me, and about things I've felt and experienced since. This is not meant to be a literary masterpiece - just thoughts from a broken hearted man. Here's a link if you want to see what it's been like for me an my family since Denise died.
